Time to Rake Leaves! We can do that.

Leaves are heavy... really heavy...but...

When we rake your leaves they'll feel a lot lighter.

When most people think of Fall in WNY, they think of crisp days, apple cider, Friday night football games, hiking, hunting, and the beautiful fall leaves painting the landscape every shade of yellow, orange, and red.

Do you also think of sore backs, blistered hands, and long sweaty days raking up leaves? If so, you may have a few trees in your yard. Don’t let the hard work of raking leaves ruin your weekends…DS Handymen can take care of that for you!

Leaves are heavy, and raking them is hard work. We are happy to help you out, but make sure you call now so that we can get to your leaves before the snow falls. Raking dry leaves in the Fall is much easier and faster than raking wet leaves in the Spring. That means it will save you time and possible injury if you’re doing it yourself, and it will save you money if you have us do it for you.

When it comes to autumn leaves, they have a lot more weight than you think. Take for example a mature oak tree. That kind of tree has around 200,000 leaves on it. When those leaves are dry, about 360 leaves equals about a pound. A fully grown tree has more leaves than that though, more like around 550 pounds of leaves. But when the leaves get wet, it is even more. Wet leaves can weigh around four times as much as dry leaves. That's why as the leaves start to fall, it's better to rake them sooner rather than later.
