50 State
Commemorative Quarter Coin Holder Album Book! |
|
I have a 6 month old and 2 year old and I am terrified to think what their education is going to cost. So I have been researching different ways to save money especially since the stock market and interest rates have been so flat. One
way I came up with was coins. If you are reading this you may have
considered something similar. |

As far as the state quarters are concerned here is what I estimate. 1.) Collecting the quarters is very easy to do and fun. I actually look forward to buying something and getting change back. 2.) I have a separate jar at home just for state quarters and everyone knows I am collecting them. So every once in while a guests to my home will throw some in....(I am already making money!) 3.) I do not feel the pinch of saving money for my kids college since it ends up being pocket change. Couple dollars a day 365 days a year 18 years = $13,140 savings and your investment can never go down! 4.) Once these books are complete 2008 when the last quarters are out they will bring a premium just for being finished (I estimate around $39.95) Just look on ebay albums part way done are already bringing in premiums. Total invested $6.95 album +$2.95 shipping assuming your buying more than one. $12.50 in quarters equals $22.40 invested. If sold for $39.95 you have almost doubled your money in 3 years. 5.) Kids & Wife can participate in saving for college (only way I have ever got my wife to save any money). 6.) Great way to educate your kids about money and especial the importance of saving some. 7.) If they put together one album per week...that should be about one hour a week quite time (priceless). 8.) They will learn geography and history since every coin has some historic significance. 9.) Its a hobby that can make you or your kids money instead of being a very costly hobby. 10.) Great gift! between me and my wife we have over 23 nieces and nephews between the ages of 1 and 13 years old. |
